Man arrested for staying illegally in the TRNC, police demands 207,000 TL as fine
He entered the TRNC two years ago by forging his cousin's Turkish Identity card. Police are demanding that he pay over 200,000 Turkish Lira as fine for the period he stayed as an illegal resident in the TRNC.
A 35-year-old man from Turkey has been arrested for staying illegally in the TRNC for two years with a falsified identity.
According to police report, the suspect, Mustafa Karaman, 35 entered north Cyprus on April, 26, 2016 through the Girnne by using a forged Turkish identity card belonging to his cousin.
He was arrested in Girne on Thursday and detained on account of owing the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus, 207,000 TL visa payment.
He appeared in a Girne court on Friday on charges of "Driving with Counterfeit Documents", "Registration with False Behavior", "Impersonation of Someone else" and "Illegal Entry into the TRNC" and was sent to prison for one month as an outlawed prisoner until next hearings
