International Conference on Economics and Security held in METU, North Cyprus for the first time

The 22nd International Conference on Economy and Security was successfully held in METU Northern Cyprus Campus.

According to a statement released by the university, the conference which had been held in the past in places like Brussels, Ankara and Grenoble was held for the first time in Northern Cyprus.

Economists and political scientists from various universities of the world attended the conference.

The conference, which took place from June 27 to 30, began with a presentation by Professor Ron Smith from the University of London, a renowned scholar in the field of Defense and Peace Economics.

The campus rector, Dr. Nazife Baykal who spoke to welcome the participants of the conference pointed out that the METU Northern Cyprus campus gave the social sciences its preliminaries and expressed his greatest happiness that the security work was the key research area of ​​METU Cyprus as it hosts the 22nd International Conference on Economics and Security.

The conference participants, organized by Paul Dunne, also noted the recognition of the Cypriot culture.

Academicians and participants were also been given the opportunity to taste traditional Cypriot delicacies during the conference.
