Greek Cypriots spend most of their money in casino and on fuel in the TRNC

It has been reported that Greek Cypriots spend more on fuel, hotels and gambling in North Cypriot due to varying prices in the south.

According to the report, the spending in the TRNC varied according to the prices in the South and that they spent more money on hotels, fuel oil and fruit during the period under review.

Based on the JCC data published on Thursday last week by the Fileleftheros news paper in south Cyprus, "Greek Cypriots goes to the North to buy fuel and for holidays ... spending a lot of money on gambling also.

Their credit card spending indicates that fuel purchases from the TRNC are increasing due to the large price difference between the South and the North.

Noting that the purchase of fuel in the entire TRNC in June, 2018 is 99,000 euros, and in the first six months of the year, 339,000 euros compared to 310,000 euros in 2017.

Greeks spend more on underwear, apparel, footwear and bags, while the spending on this item last year was several thousand Euros, while this year it was emphasized to reach 100 thousand Euros per month.

It has been determined that there is no change in accommodation and casino habits in the hotels in the TRNC. The Greek Cypriots spend 426,000 euros for hotel accommodation last month, while the amount spent on this item in the first half of this year was 2,200,000 euros. 259,000 euros in June and 1,400,000 euros were spent in casinos in the first six months of the year.. 

It was stated that last year, 5 million euros was spent for accommodation in the TRNC, and 1,600,000 euros on casinos.
