German citizen arrested for stealing money from a box at a resident in Kaplica

A German citizen has been arrested for stealing from a house in Kaplica, north Cyprus where he goes to work as a daily worker following a complaint by the house owner.

Ullrich Backer, 46 was arrested on the complaint of the house owner for allegedly stealing a total of 2,000 euros and 700 TL cash at different times from inside a steel coin box at his home.  

The suspect was taken to a Famagusta court on the charges of stealing.

Police investigation reveals that the suspect carried out the act between June 11th and 4th July as a daily worker.

The accused accepted the crime and gave voluntary statement. 

He was ordered to remain in detention for 3 days.
