Baby miraculously survives being ripped from mum’s womb following crash that killed mum
A baby girl has miraculously beaten the odds to survive a horrific car crash that saw her ripped from her mother’s womb on the side of the road.
The
heavily pregnant woman was travelling in a truck on a motorway in
southeast Brazil recently when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The truck flipped over, throwing the mother-to-be from the cabin.
During the accident, a load of wooden planks that was being transported by the truck came loose, crushing the woman.
The
force of the accident tore the infant from her mother’s stomach, and
she landed in grass on the side of the motorway, local media reported.
Paramedics declared the woman dead at the scene, but soon heard the newborn crying nearby a few metres from her mother.
The baby’s umbilical cord had been cut in the crash, but she was otherwise completely unharmed.
The
child was treated at Pariquera-Acu regional hospital’s neonatal
intensive care ward after surviving the “accidental Caesarian”, Metro reported.
The identity of the mother, who was 39 weeks pregnant when she was killed, is still unknown and authorities are investigating her background in an attempt to find any of the baby’s relatives.

First responder Elton Fernando Barbosa told Brazil’s A Tribuna newspaper he had witnessed a shocking scene.
He said he could barely believe it when he found the child.
Truck driver Jonathan Ferreira was taken to hospital after the crash but was soon released, as he had no serious injuries.
It was a serious accident with one reported person deceased, he said.
When I arrived there, I saw that the truck driver was injured, and he was seen by the first aid team.
I went looking for the fatal victim who was underneath the wood, when I heard the cries of a baby. It was which total apprehension, because there had been no reports of a third victim.

The foetus was literally expelled by the impact on the mother, the impact was so great that this opened up the mother’s belly and the child was ejected, he said.
She was perfect, healthy, without a scratch. We can say that, in those circumstances, it was really a miracle that she survived.
By what I saw, I have no idea how she came out alive. I don’t know how this child got out with her life.

He told authorities he did not know the pregnant woman and had simply given her a lift.
Mr Ferreira has since been charged with manslaughter.
Police told local media if the baby’s relatives were not found, she would be taken to an orphanage.
God of miracle.
