61-year-old Turkish Cypriot man shots wife dead in Doganci

A 61-year-old Turkish Cypriot man has reportedly shot and killed his wife with a riffle in the village of Doganci, north Cyprus on Thursday evening.

The man identified as İbrahim Erhalk, 61 shot and killed his wife Nigar Erhalk, 52 with a hunting rifle in their residence at Doganci at about 6pm on Thursday.

The woman lost her life at the scene.

He was arrested and taken into custody. 

Police say the reason for the murder is yet to be determined.
