World Cup 2018: Croatia vs Nigeria - All you need to know

It's Croatia vs Nigeria tonight and it promises to be a teasing affair as the two most enigmatic teams meet for their first World Cup 2018 match.

Croatia and Nigeria are classic examples of a collection of high-class players who have never really combined to impress in World Cup football.

As they will be aiming to get off to a winning start when they meet in their World Cup opener at the Kaliningrad Stadium on Saturday, the match could prove vital in deciding Group D as Argentina the clear favourites take on tournament debutants Iceland the dark horses,

Nigeria have qualified for five of the last six World Cups, so they are no stranger to the competition. However, going against Croatia with players who are playing their first ever World Cup might be tricky.

Despite Croatia squeezing through the playoffs, head coach Zlatko Dalic has some impressive players on his roster, including Real Madrid's Luca Modric.

But Nigeria's 4-0 victory over Cameroon gave them the boost they needed, and with that spirit and a squad counting Alex Iwobi, Victor Moses and Kelechi Iheanacho, the Super Eagles could surprise us all.

Nigeria have already impressed with their off-field fashion sense and would be hoping to get that panache onto the playing field. So who wins?
