Woman who stabbed and killed -year-old son in Gonyeli to remain in police custody for 7 days
Woman who killed her 7-year-old son in Gonyeli earlier in the week by stabbing him several times with a knife will remain in detention for seven days while investigation into the incident continues.
The woman identified as Bilge Lord Kunduraci, 36 was arrested and taken to a Lefkosa court on charges of killing his 7-year-old son.
An autopsy carried out showed that the child was stabbed 12 times with a knife.
Police said 4 cuts were detected in the child's hands which probably indicated that the child may have tried to resist and protect himself.
According to police report, the woman who was in the process of a divorce was annoyed by a social media post though it was not immediately clear what it was and decided to end her life and that of her son's.
Police stated that the woman had injured his son Ercan Kaya with a knife in his stomach on 27th May and slept by his side. After sleeping with his son for one night, she then realized the next morning, (8:00am, May, 28) that he hadn’t died, and then stabbed him again.
