Two Russian women arrested in Lapta for insulting and tearing a policeman's shirt

A Russian woman and her friend has been arrested by the TRNC police for causing road traffic accident in Lapta and for insulting and attacking two police officers.

According to police report, one of the women, Ignat Zinovenko, a Russian national and her friend caused the accident by hitting another car while driving under the influence of alcohol at about 9:45pm on Tuesday.

Her friend, Natali Karelina, also a Russian citizen is said to have insulted and attacked two police who came to the scene of the acident and tore one of the officers shirt.

They were arrested and taken to a court in Girne on charges of crimes against police men on duty, drunkenness, causing public disorder, inappropriate attitude, movement" and "driving while drunk. 

They were released by the court on bail.

Their identities were seized and ordered to report to the nearest police station once a week.
