Two people crushed to death after truck fell on their vehicle at Ercan airport road

At least two people have lost their life in an accident that happened on Saturday evening after a truck loaded with gravel fell on a car carrying two people close to a petrol station along the Ercan - Iskele Highway.

The accident reportedly happened at about 5:15 on Saturday when the truck fell on a vehicle occupied by two passengers killing them in the process.

The two people who lost their lives in the crushed car were identified as Kaleil Bowan, 55, a male and Emine Bowan, 56, a female.

The truck driver identified as Ramadan Tomuk, 57 was taken to the Famagusta State Hospital before he was arrested by the police reports, Turkish Cypriot daily, Havadis.

The road was shut off to traffic.
