Two former police officers caught with 600 grams of heroin found guilty by a Lefkosa court
Two former police officers who were caught with 600 grams of heroin sometime in 2017 has been found guilty of the crime.
Former police Faruk Sayın, 39 and Esat Cabbar, 32 who were caught with 600 grams of heroin in Bostancı and denied the charges, were found guilty of drug crimes by a Lefkosa court court on Tuesday.
The two men were convicted in an unanimous decision by the Lefkosa court.
According to report, the accused were caught with 600 grams of heroin with a market value of about 180 thousand TL in an operation carried out by the narcotics police in Bostanci in March 2017.
The court judge who read the verdict explained that the case had been proved by all elements of the claim and that they had decided that both suspected cases should be condemned.
Their sentences will be announced on Wednesday.
