Super Eagles of Nigeria arrive Russia as most fashionable team
The Nigeria Super Eagles arrived Russia on Monday night, dressed in green and
white ensembles complete with hats and shoes, to win the another fashion
contest at the World Cup after their jerseys proved a hit.
The Nigeria travel outfit, made by a local designer, not only taps into the country's traditional culture but also gives a nod to the team's football identity, with embroidered Eagle wings and a football on the chest and collar.
The outfits have been a hit on social media and follows on the heels of a globally popular World Cup kit designed by Nike, which sold out within minutes.
Many fans on social media have already handed the Super Eagles a win in the World Cup fashion stakes.
The squad were treated to a brief welcome reception by hotel staff and a handful of Nigerians in Essentuki, many of whom are students at the Essentuki Institiute of Management, Business and Law.
After Croatia, the Nigerians continue group play against Iceland on June 22 and Argentina on June 26.

But head coach Gernot Rohr insists that his team are more than just fashionable trendsetters, and are focused on getting ready for their first game against Croatia on June 16.Did the #Nigeria Super Eagles come to play football in #Russia? Or is there a trophy for best dressed country.... Not surprised because the team jersey already won the best jersey at the tournament and now this... pic.twitter.com/rpCHK7iySd— Paul Aisa (@IamPaulOlomo) June 12, 2018
We are happy to be here after working so hard. But we continue to work and we continue to be humble and we will be ready for Croatia because the first game, it is a very important game, not the clothes, Rohr told KweséESPN.
