Kanye West thought wife Kim Kardashian would leave him after controversial slavery comments

US rapper Kanye West has revealed he thought his reality star wife Kim Kardashian would leave him after his controversial ‘slavery’ comments.

In a deeply raw interview with the New York Times, the rapper made the surprise admission.

He’s known for his public rants and questioning line of thought which can often get him in hot water. And, he found himself standing in a metaphorical geyser after making controversial comments about slavery.

So extreme was the backlash that the father-of-three questioned whether his wife of four years – Kim Kardashian- would leave him.

Speaking to the American publication, he said: “There was a moment where I felt like after TMZ, maybe a week after that I felt like the energy levels were low, and I called different family members and was asking, you know, ‘Was Kim thinking about leaving me after TMZ?’”

He added: “So that was a real conversation.”

In a conversation with TMZ, Kanye had claimed that slavery was a “choice” for African Americans – and defended his decision to support Donald Trump.

The American rapper, 40, made the confession during a series of rambling interviews where he opened up about his views on race and how other rappers perceive him. But despite the contention, all was forgiven by his wife and mother of their three children.
