Fraudulent and racist taxi driver alert

Recently there have been series of reports about a Turkish Cypriot taxi driver sexually harassing female students, duping unsuspecting students and stealing from them in the Lefkosa and Girne axis of north Cyprus.

From the several reports reaching us, there is a particular taxi driver who goes about collecting phones and personal belongings from female and male students (African) and sometimes try to sexually harass them.

According to our sources, this taxi driver usually take advantage of drunk students who were exiting from the club or social gathering.

He is also fond of going back on agreement and sometimes increases fares when he discovers his passenger are tipsy and sometimes take their phones and tell them to bail it by paying him exorbitant sums.

Those who goes to party or hang out at, club Honies in Girne, Hangover in Deriboyo and Cloud9 at the Near East University road all in Lefkosa should be careful of such individual.  

We advise you to take photo of the license plate number of any vehicle before entering. 
Keep your personal belongings, including your phones, ATM cards and wallets very close to yourself.
Report any such cases of harrasment and theft to neccessary authorities and also
Try to put your mobile in record mode before entering any vehicle.
