Fire outbreak at Gürdağ brick factory in Haspolat

There was fire out break at the Gürdağ Brick Factory in Haspolat on Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out at about 10:00am on Monday morning, reports Turkish Cypriot newspaper, Kibris.

According to the report, the fire broke out in the chimney section of the brick factory as a result of the sparking of electric wires during maintenance repairs being carried out on the facility by workers of the factory.

The fire service intervened quickly and helped put out the fire.

No one was injured in the incident but a forklift was damaged by the fire and rendered unusable.
