Dog detects two men with drugs at Ercan Airport

Two men has been arrested by the TRNC narcotics police at Ercan airport for attempting to enter the country with drugs.

According to police report, the two men identified as Javafad Eftekhari, 45, and Ashkan Adeli, 27 who happened to be tourists were arrested on Wednesday at the Ercan airport and about 110 grams of methamphetamine-type drugs were seized from them.

The two men were charged to a Lefkosa court on the charges of "methamphetamine possession".

Police in a court report said one of the suspects, Javad Eftekhari, held and searched after he was detected by a narcotics dog upon his arrival at the airport.

Police say the suspect gave a voluntary testimony.

They were ordered by the court to remain in police detention for one day pending investigation.
