Cyprus Weather Report - Bipolar weather in Cyprus continues as rain expected to cool down the heatwave!

Cloudy skies and rainy weather are in store for Cyprus this week, with Monday temperatures dropping as low as 30’s to pick back up later in the week with parts of the island under a hailstorm watch for the next few days. 

Monday will be mostly clear in the early part of the day while clouds will start to form later with a chance of local rain showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly up in the mountains, inland, and on the eastern coast.

The sea will be relatively calm but there will be choppy waters later in the afternoon, with moderate winds turning into strong westerly winds by late afternoon.

Maximum temperatures will be 33° Celsius inland, 30° on the southern and eastern coasts, 28° out west and in the northern parts of the island, and 24° up in the highest elevations on the mountains.

Tuesday temperatures will have a noticeable drop while Wednesday will pick up again, with temperatures rising as days follow.

There will be evening clouds and a chance of local rain showers mainly in coastal areas, with calm to gentle southwesterly and northwesterly winds.

Minimum temperatures are expected to drop to 19° Celsius inland, 17° on the western coast, around 20° in all other coastal regions, and 15° up in the mountains.

Tuesday temperatures will have a noticeable drop while Wednesday will pick up again, with temperatures rising as days follow.

Weather on Tuesday through Thursday will be mostly clear during the early part of the day but afternoon clouds are expected to set in, with a chance of local rain showers and even isolated thunderstorms.

Officials say there is a chance of a hailstorm during isolated thunderstorms.
