Chef arrested for stealing from a hotel kitchen in Alsancak

A young man working as a chef in a hotel in Alsancak region, was arrested on the grounds of stealing from his place of work.

The man identified as Abdurrahman Baz, was accused of stealing 10 kilos of hellim and 5 kilos of raisins.

He was arrested and taken to a Girne Court.

Police in a report said the suspect confessed to the crime and that they were looking for other suspects who may be linked to the crime.

The suspect told the court that he did not steal hellim and raisins and said, "I did not steal to sell it, I did not have a param, I took it to take me to my hometown."

He was ordered to remian in police custody for three days pending investigation into the matter.
