Angry boyfriend detained in Lefkosa for slapping girlfriend
Iğim Üzümoğlu, a college student who stayed in the same house with his girlfriend at their home in Marmara region had slapped her in the ear during an heated argument. The slap caused the girl's ear to tear. He also went further to attack the girl with his hands and feet.
She reported the issue to the police and Ilgim Üzümoğlu was arrested and taken to a Lefkosa court on the charges of "grave harm" and "serious assault".
Following his arrest, Ilgim Üzümoğlu, claimed that his girlfriend had provoked him and out of jealousy, he slapped her in the ear.
First she slapped me several times, I lost myself, the suspect told the court.
He accepted that he was guilty of the crime.
He was released by the court on bail on the condition that he deposits a bond of 15, 000TL cash and a guarantor which he failed to meet.
He is to remain in police dentition until the trial.
