17 year old jailed for eight years for raping girlfriend’s grandmother in south Cyprus!

A 17-year-old teenager from Nicosia, south Cyprus was sentenced to eight years for raping his girlfriend’s 81-year-old grandmother, after she had told him off during an earlier incident. 

On March 31, the teen went to the elderly woman’s residence in downtown Nicosia to meet his girlfriend, who is also her granddaughter.

According to police, the grandmother told him off and asked him to leave.

Later than night, approximately half an hour past midnight, the teenager came back to the house when the grandmother was home alone and attacked her, according to reports, causing her to fall and then raping her.

The senior citizen was taken to the Emergency Room at Nicosia General Hospital, where she was treated of her wounds including an earlier leg injury from a foot surgery that had been re-aggravated during the attack.

Initially, the teen admitted only to burglary charges as well as causing serious bodily harm, but later he was presented with DNA evidence and admitted to the additional charge of rape.

He said he was under the influence and couldn’t remember that he had raped the 81-year-old woman.
