Two drunk men arrested at the Lefkosa city center for lowering a Turkish flag at half mast

Two drunk people were arrested in the early hours of Friday morning at the Lefkosa city center roundabout for lowering a Turkish flag at half mast in front of Afrik newspaper.

According to report by Turkish Cypriot daily, Kibris, they were arrested at about 00:15 am at the Cemal Gürsel road in Lefkosa, where they were found to have dropped the Turkish flag in front of the African Newspaper by half mast.

One of those arrested, identified as R.A.S, 30 a British citizen was under the influence of 208 promil alcohol and his friend identified only as M.L.E.C, 23, a French citizen was also under the influence of 156 promil alcohol.

They were said to be shouting out loud. 

They were all found guilty and were arrested.

A woman who was arrested alongside the two men was later released by the police after she was found innocent.

Police say they are investigating the matter.
