Turkish Cypriot president blasts Israel for Palestinian deaths

Turkish Cypriot president Mustafa Akıncı, in a statement on social media on Tuesday strongly condem Israel for the violence in Gaza. 

On Monday, Israel launched an attack on Palestinian civilians protesting against the opening of the USA embassy in Jerusalem, killing 60 and injuring 2,700 others.

Reminding that despite the negative reaction from the international community, the US implemented its decision to move its embassy to Jerusalem;

This decision is a new blow to peace and stability of the region that has already caused the deaths of thousands of Palestinians. I strongly condemn Israel for brutally murdering unarmed civilians, he said.

I invite the United States to stop fuelling the fire and contribute to the Israel-Palestine peace process.
