Student arrested in Lefkosa for using fake house contract

A student has been arrested by the TRNC police in Lefkosa for using a fake house contract.

From the report we gathered, the student who is studying with one of the universities in Lefkosa had gone to the government tax office in Lefkosa during the week to renew his resident permit.

After submitting his documents for checks, the tax officers noticed that he was a fake house contract. He was arrested in the process.

The TRNC authorities is currently on a crack down on illegal residents in the country especially those who are not registered with any university in the country.

Last week, 5 students were arrested at their place of work in Famagusta for working illegally and not having a resident permit. They were taken to court where they were sent to prison and will be deported after serving their jail sentences.
