Student arrested in Lefkosa for using fake document in university application

One Omar Abdallah Mustafa Saleh, a student in North Cyprus has been arrested for fraud after he was found to have registered to a university using fake documents.

The suspect, Omar Abdallah Mustafa Saleh, has been accused of registering with a university in the island using fake documents and had attempted to transfer to another university when he was arrested.

He was arrested on charges of "deceiving official with fake documents" and "fraudulent registration", and was brought to a Lefkosa court on Saturday.
According to police report, the suspect had been an architecture student at the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Famagusta since March, 11, 2015 and has completed 18 courses but then decide to transfer to the Cyprus international University using fake transcripts while registering in April.

Police said the student voluntarily accepted the offense and that the investigation had been completed.

The court released the student on bail and ordered that he submits his travel documents to the police, pay a cash bond of 4,000 TL and must be report to the police at least once a week.
