Student arrested for money laundering in Lefkosa

A student has been arrested for money laundering after he was found with about $64,000 cash in his apartment in Lefkosa.

According to report, the student of African origin was arrested by the narcotics police in his Lefkosa apartment on Friday where $64,300 cash was found following a search.

The Anti-Financial Crimes police said the suspect had purchased a Range Rover worth $47,600 on May 8.

The money was seized by the police.

He was taken to court over the weekend and was ordered by the court to remain in police custody for three day for investigative purpose.
