Student arrested and jailed for stealing watch and necklace

A 20-year-old student studying in a university in Lefkosa has been arrested and jailed for stealing a watch and a necklace from a shop in Lefkosa.

The suspect identified as Omar Elnhas, a 20-year-old university student in Lefkoşa, stole the valuables from Adnan Kaplan Ticaret's business name on Friday last week and was taken to court on Saturday.

According to police report, the suspect had gone to the shop located at Kemer Asik street in Lefkosa the previous day as a customer where he stole men's wrist watch worth TL 350, necklace worth TL 80 and men's wallets worth TL 40.

Police said the stolen items were taken as evidence after the suspect was arrested in Lefkosa on the same day.

He was ordered to remain in police custody for three days.
