Nigerian arrested in North Cyprus for illegally living in the country for 8 years

A Nigerian living in north Cyprus has been arrested for illegally living in the country and for giving police wrong information about his missing passport.

The accused identified as T.S.E, had on Friday May, 18 reported to the Lefkosa Police department that his passport was missing but investigation by the police later revealed that he has has been living in the country illegally in the last 8 years without registering with any university.

He was arrested on May 18 and taken to a Lefkosa court on Saturday May, 19.

Police in a court document said the accused has been living in the country illegally since March, 2010.

He was ordered to remain in police custody for three days to enable investigation into the matter.
