Man who robbed 10 different shops in Girne arrested

A man who entered the TRNC with a tourist visa has been arrested and jailed by the police for robbing dozens of business in Girne region in the last five months.

The suspect identified as Ramazan Yavuz was arrested on Sunday.

According to police report, the suspect broke into 10 different shops in Girne, Çatalköy and Alsancak areas in the last five months of 2018 and was caught while planning to enter another shop on Sunday.

According to police findings, 2, 280 TL cash and 19,000 TL worth of clothes, ladies lingerie and electronic goods were stolen by Yavuz who voluntarily testified and accepted the crime.

He was taken to a Girne court on Monday on charges of breaking and entry and stealing and was ordered to remain in police custody for three days.
