Greek Cypriot Association of Pharmaceutical Companies warns citizens not to buy pharmaceuticals from North Cyprus

The Greek Cypriot national health system (Gesy) has warned it's citizens not to buy pharmaceuticals from North Cyprus due to the fact they could be harming themselves.

According to an announcement by the Greek Cyprus Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (CAPC) on Tuesday, it warned the public to not buy pharmaceuticals from the north, due to the fact they could be harming themselves, urging the public to ask themselves why prices are lower and about the quality of the medicines sold there.

The association also noted that no one is capable of knowing if the pharmaceuticals in the north meet the correct preservation and safety criteria.

The announcement added that the pharmacies have not been checked by the EU, and that it is not possible to know if pharmacists in the north are correctly trained.
The association also said the solution to the problem is the creation of the Gesy, which according to the law notes the medicine will not be paid by patients, but by the state.
