EMU students protests against cancellation of Spring Festival

Students of the Eastern Mediterranean University, EMU, Famagusta has launched a protest against the university over the cancellation of it's 2018 Spring Festival which was scheduled to hold this week due to violence in Gaza.

Students of the university to this effect created an Instagram page with the name Bring_Back_Festival. 

A description on the page reads; 

We all respect to all nations and countries and we want the equality treatment to all nationalities in EMU, please bring back the spring festival.

In one of the post on the page, they wrote;

Our hearts go with any sad moments that happen to people in any country ,but noone wants to see more people sad and unhappy anymore ,,by cancellation of spring festival many of students in EMU got sad and many of our university mates are deprssed due to this decision ..so by our presence we can show them we care about people in any races we always keep respect toward any nations so other nations should keep the same respect ..we all agreed that the spring festival will be held a few days later but we sure most of us to bring the spring festival back so be there towmorrow for rally in front of rector's office at 13:00 pm bring all your friends from all nationalities and tag your friends under this post and spread it as much as you can on your story or even on facebook 🙏🏻 #bringbackspringfestival#emu#studentrights 

Recall that on Monday, Israel launched an attack on Palestinian civilians protesting against the opening of the US embassy in Jerusalem, killing and injuring several people.

In response to the incidence, Palestine students in Cyprus staged a protest at the Cyprus International University CIU, Haspolat and the Eastern Mediterranean University, EMU, Famagusta, with EMU cancelling it's planned Spring Festival in solidarity.

Now students of the university wants their festival back..

We respect to All countries and sad moments that happen to all nations but there is all students right to have the same sharing of empathy and making desicion on things that are being made in EMU ,we all want to have spring festival at least a little bit later rather than to be cancelled ....
