Care giver arrested over the death of 88-year-old man in a Famagusta old peoples home

A care giver has been arrested for allegedly causing the death of an 88-year-old man in a old peoples home operating in Famagusta.

The woman, a Turkmenistan national who works in a old peoples home in Famagusta was accused for causing the death of Ramadan Alihan, 88 in nursing home on Friday April, 27.

According to police report, Ramadan Alihan, a resident of the care home, reportedly fell on his back while trying to sit on a table for lunch that was prepared by the suspect at the cafeteria which lead to his death.

The suspect was arrested and taken to a Famagusta court on accusation of carelessness that lead to Ramadan Alihan's death.

She was ordered by the court to remain in police custody for two days while investigation continues into the incident.
