Body of two men found in sea off Yeni Erenkoy in North Cyprus

The body of two men aged around 25 - 50 year were found in the sea off Yeni Erenköy on Saturday.

According to police report, “At about 15.30, another male body about 50 years old was found within one nautical mile of Yeni Erenköy. Upon the arrival of the police, the body was brought on land by the coast guard. The investigation is continuing.”

Several hours earlier, the body of a man aged between 25-30 was found on the beach.

Update: While attempts to identifiy the two men continues, it is believed that they are both Syrian nationals, likely to be refugees. It is feared that more bodies may be found at sea or washed up on the beaches.
