23-year-old Palestinian arrested for drugs in Girne following a police chase
A 23-year-old Palestine national caught with drugs in Girne has been arrested and detained by the police.
According to police report, 6 grams of hintekin type drug was seized from the suspect on Friday, April 4.
Police report, say the 23-year-old Palestinian identified as Saed Nah Saeed Shaun had tried to escape a check point mounted by the police narcotics team in Kyrenia without stopping following a police warning.
He was later caught and 6 grams of Hinekinev type drug found on him following a search.
Police said the suspect testified that he received the drug from someone and did not know they were drug.
He was arraigned before a Girne court on Friday on charges of illegal drug possession where he was ordered to remain in police custody for three days for investigation purposes.
