Tire of Cyprus bound plane explodes in Turkey
An Ercan bound private flight attempting to take off at the Atatürk International Airport in Istanbul on Monday reportedly had one of it's tire burst into flames but no one was injured in the incident.
According to report by Airport authorities, the private plane was about to make a departure on the race track when one of it's wheels started bringing out fire and smoke which was extinguished by fire fighters.
According to the information obtained, the Cessna 560 Citation V-type aircraft, which is based on the apron of Ataturk Airport General Aviation Terminal, is waiting to come to Ercan Airport.
Report say the pilot of the plane noticed that the tire on the right landing gear exploded and seeing the smoke from the tire exploding due to friction, he decided to dropped the passengers.
Investigation revealed that both tires of the plane were affected by the fire.
