This Liverpool team is on another level

The UEFA champions league sure comes with its thrills and surprises, and this year has lived up to its billing. One is force to admire the free flow of the game,the goals scored,and the quality of play by most of the teams in the quarter final stage of the champion league. 

Ronaldo's wonder strike,and the outstanding display by Real Madrid in Turin, the  hard fought victory by Bayern Munich at Sevilla, the own goal galore by As Roma at camp Nou, and the exciting display by Jurgen Klop's Liverpool over Pep Guardiola's Manchester city in Anfield.

Jurgen klopp has showed to be Pep Guardiola's major nemesis, haven had the better of all their meeting by a large margin.Pep must be asking himself questions, like how Klop does it, Klop has won more matches against pep Guardiola than any other manager has done against the Spaniard and the quarter final of this year's champions league was truly on another level. 

The first half saw Liverpool controlling the pace of the game,intercepting most Manchester city's play,winning duo challenges, getting to most lose balls first, counter attacking the city team with so much potency. The fluidity of Manchester city's play was absent in the first,and they barely had a decent strike on goal in the game.

It will be almost impossible for Manchester city to overturn the deficit, but in football you can never say never,as we saw Barcelona come from four goals down to eliminate PSG last season. But I don't see that happening with this Liverpool team, this team has something going for them in the champion's league, their drive,intensity, press,and high play will make it an uphill task for Guardiola's Manchester city,the luxury play that pep has been accustom to is one of his undoing. 

Pep tactical ability has been questioned on whether aside his tick tack football,if he can win matches from pure tactical point. While at Bayern Munich his team was beaten blue black and red by Atlectico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Pep seem to stick with his philosophy even when a little tactical change would have done the magic,and i am yet to see him win big matches by strictly tactical approach.

Mo Salah has been Liverpool's best performer this year,and if fit for the return leg he will surely expose city's fragility in defence,and with such high pressing and tactical play by Klop's Liverpool, pep Guardiola's ticky tacky play wouldn't work the magic of a semi final spot. Pep must know that sometimes you must win dirty,and he must incorporate it to his team.

This Liverpool team has a lot going for them,and it includes the tactical ability of Jurgen Klop,the mesmerizing runs of mo Salah,the stamina of Jordan Henderson, the ruggedity of Sadio Mane,and the off the ball runs of Firmino. I don't know if this Liverpool team can win,this  year champions league,but surely they will be at the semifinals, and i wouldn't be surprise if they make it to this year's final.
