Student caught on camera stealing phone in a pharmacy in Lefkosa

An international student in Cyprus has been arrested and detained by police for stealing a mobile phone in a pharmacy in Lefkosa.

The suspect identified as V. T. K was arrested and detained in Lefkosa six days after camera images showed him stealing a mobile phone at Umut Öksüz pharmacy in Küçük Kaymaklı, Lefkosa on March 29.

The suspect was later arrested on April 4th in Küçük Kaymaklı district while the stolen phone was found on him.

According to media report, the stolen phone a Samsung S6 brand was worth TL 750.

The suspect who investigation has been completed against was taken to the Lefkosa Court on Thursday.

The court judge ordered the suspect to remain in police custody for two weeks pending trial and banned from traveling out of the country.
