Student arrested and taken to court on suspicion of stealing from Picobelle bar at Haspolat

An African student has been arrested by the TRNC police and taken to court on suspicion of stealing from Picobelle bar situated at the Haspolat-Güngör road last Saturday.

According to police report, the suspect, T.F who works on the Haspolat - Güngör road, allegedly broke the glass door of the business place and stole from it. He was arrested in a short time police say and was taken to the Lefkosa court on Sunday.

Police in a court document, said the 21-year-old suspect on Saturday April, 21 at 5:00 pm, deliberately and unlawfully broke the double-glazed aluminum door of the Picobelle café, operating in Haspolat adding that he also broke a chair.

Owner of the bar claimed the suspect took 10 bottles of alcoholic beverages in various brands worth TL 388 and 300 TL cash money which was kept in the bar.

Police say the suspect voluntarily testified and accepted the guilty, stating that the stolen drinks were found at his residence.

The court ordered the suspect to remain in police custody for two days to allow investigation into the incident.
