Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do not want wedding gifts

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have acknowledged the hoards of well-wishers who want to send them gifts to celebrate their upcoming wedding by asking them to donate to charity instead.

Kensington Palace sent out a statement on twitter on behalf of the couple, explaining that the Prince and his finacée were “incredibly grateful for the goodwill they have received since their engagement” but would prefer donations to charity in lieu of wedding presents.

Their request is not surprising as since the royal family has a very stringent policy on accepting gifts and also, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry do almost all of their public work for charitable organizations.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have personally chosen seven charities “which represent a range of issues that they are passionate about.”

Those charities encompass “women’s empowerment, conservation, the environment, homelessness, HIV and the Armed Forces.”
