Nigerian teen Ruti Olajugbagbe emerges winner of the UK Voice 2018
Ruti Olajugbagbe who is of Nigerian and British heritage, on Saturday, April 7, 2018 emerged winner of the 2018 edition of The Voice UK
This year, Donel Mangena was tipped for victory with his mentor and coach will.i.am. But in a shock to viewers and the bookies, 18-year-old Ruti Olajugbagbe was crowned the champion and secured the prized record deal.
The teenager, who was on Tom Jones's team, sang her way to victory, beating Donel Mangena, Belle Voci and Lauren Bannon.
She won the £100,000 Grand Prize, as well as a deal with Republic Records. Her first single became available as soon as the Voice final finished on Saturday night.
Congrats girl.... Who said something good can't come out of Nigeria???
