Nigeria 2019 - This recycling must stop
Election year is fast approaching and the usual campaigns,
are beginning to spring up, with individuals indicating interest in various
elective positions.
Campaign posters are already flooding our high ways and
various pressure groups are already projecting and supporting various
individuals. One thing I have noticed on my few trip around my state and
outside my state and nationally has been the emergence of same old folk's
indicating their interest for positions they have previously contested for and
lost, positions where they were defeated in the past, or in their parties
primaries.
One is force to ask why certain individuals think its their birthright
to occupy certain positions in their state, and in the nation. Why must a
failed senator, who has performed poorly think he should be re elected?, why
must a former governor think he is the best fit for a senator, and promising
unrealistic projects that he couldn't execute when he was the governor of the
state?.
Its time for us to see fresh ideas from newbies into the political
landscape. I'm tried of seen a former commissioner in a state via for federal seat,
when he barely had impart as a
commissioner, aside blowing sirens, buying new cars, marrying new wives. Same
people who do not have an impart as private citizens, who has no investment interest
in their constituency, aside houses and plaza's via for elective offices. Individuals
who have nothing to write about,in business, investment, entertainment, are now
projecting themselves as worthy candidates to changes the lots of their
constituency, how is that even possible?.
A former council, local government chairman, state
commissioner, former member of the state house of assembly, intending to
contest for a Federal position with no impart on his immediate constituency, no
tangible project executed in those year, no business interest with employment
ratio of an hundred employee, no innovative idea(s), no worthy of note personal
impart!.
Why will a former commissioner and state Governor think he has to be a
senator, or best candidate for a ministerial appointment!, there are hundred of
proven individuals who are capable, who should be given the opportunity to
lead, technocrats, proven and tested business moguls who has made imparts in their
chosen fields who can handle public offices.
This recycling of same caucus, political class, must stop!
We must inject new ideas into our political offices, we must not recycle same
individuals into different offices at different times, this has been the reason
for our stagnation as a people. New minds must be harness, new ideology must be
tried, new method must be used. Let the old guards take a bow, retire not be
godfathers, because what you couldn't fix your ideas and picks will definitely
not fix them.
Our youth must stop been puppets to these politician, our
women must stop selling their votes for salt, rice and wrapper.
We want to see real impact by our political class.
I want to see ideas, innovative legislature, policies that catalyze employment and business growth.
I want to see grants offer by political class that will impact small scale businesses, and ideas without beneficiary been political allies to the benefactors.
If you didn't impact your community as a councillor, LGA chairman, commissioner, state assembly member, my brother/sister you wouldn't impact us as a senator or governor, or minister, so please take a bow, we are tired of recycled leaders!.
