Monday April 23 declared public holiday in North Cyprus and Turkey
Monday, April 23 has been declared a public holiday as the TRNC with Turkey celebrate the National Sovereignty and Children's Day with series of ceremonies and activities planned for the day.
There will be ceremonies in Lefkosa and all district towns and villages in the TRNC. A Gala Program will be held on the evening of the 20th International April 23rd Children's Festival.
Turkey Grand National Assembly in commemorating the anniversary of the landing of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk as a gift to the children by the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day will celebrate the day with various ceremonies and events.
Ceremonies will be held in Girne at 8:40am with the laying of wreaths in front of the Atatürk Monument, in Famagusta at 9:00 am in front of the Victory Monument, in Güzelyurt at 9:00am in front of the Atatürk Monumet, in Iskele'de at 8:45am at the 'de Martyr İlker Karter Primary School and at the Atatürk Monument in Ecevit Square with demonstrations planned at 9:00am at the İskele Cumhuriyet Stadium. In Lefke, the ceremony will start at 9:00am in front of the Atatürk Monument.
