Fire gutted building at Lefkosia City Centre, homeless man rescued

A homeless man was rescued by fire service from an empty building that was gutted by fire at the Lefkosa walled street, City Centre on Saturday night.

According to police report, the incident happened at about 9:30pm on Saturday night in a long, unused vacant building at the Ural wall street in Lefkosa.

The Lefkosa Fire Department intervened and put the fire under control. The man was affect by smoke and was attended to by medical team.

Several waste materials in the empty building were destroyed by the fire.

Police investigation revealed that the person was staying in the vacant apartment.
