Fake US dollar notes in circulation - TRNC police warns

The North Cyprus police have issued a warning on the circulation of counterfeit $50 bills in the market.

In a statement made by the General Directorate of Police, on Wednesday, it said it detected some counterfeit US Dollar, which consists of 50 US Dollars banknotes in a person's savings.

According to the statement, there are a total of 5 fake $50 bills with the following serial numbers, 
-ML 35643293A, 
-MG 62111389A, 
-ML 35643843A, 
-ML 78655690A and 
-MG 65155222A.

Police said there is a possibility that the fake notes might have found it's way into the general market including banks, foreign exchange companies, financial institutions, supermarkets and in the possession of citizens warning the general public to be very careful and report suspects to the nearest police station.
