6 People arrested at Ercan and Famagusta for drugs

A total of 6 people have been arrested by the TRNC police at the Ercan airport and in Famagusta for drug related crimes.

According to a weekly police Press Bulletin, one of the suspects identified as B.A, 21 was arrested after an item believed to be a hintokinetic kind drug weighing about 6 grams was found in his possession as he entered the TRNC from Ercan Airport on Wednesday evening.

In another development, police said they found 20 root cannabis plants in a search carried out at an apartment in Famagusta where another suspect, G.E, 36 was residing adding that the plants were grown on the roof of the apartment. 

In relation to the matter, a search was carried out on one B.E, 35 where items believed to be some seeds of cannabis and items believed to be used in cannabis-type plant agriculture were found in the trunk of the vehicle.

Also on Thursday, police arrested another suspect identified as Z.B.E, 32 who was found with a substance believed to be a synthetic cannabinoid type drug weighing 85 grams and 3 pieces of wrapped cigarettes believed to be a drug substance following a search carried out on a vehicle in Famagusta.

Two other people believed to be connected with it, were also arrested.
