22-year-old Turkish national confessed to murder of Greek Cypriot

A 22-year-old Turkish national has confessed to the murder of Greek Cypriot Apostolides after he was arrested in Turkey.

According to reports by Turkish Cypriot dailies, the man, believed to be Erdinc Senturk, visited a police station in the city of Yalova near the eastern coast of the Sea of Marmara and confessed to the murder of Solomos Apostolides.

Apostolides, 65 was declared missing on March 28.

Solomos Apostolides body was found in a forest area near the Girne mountain road on Thursday evening. 

The body was in a state of decomposition when it was found.

An autopsy carried out on the body to determined the cause of his death revealed that he died from heavy trauma to the head and cerebral haemorrhage.
According to report, he sustained a fatal injury which had been caused by a blow with a heavy object. 

Apostolides, a frequent visitor to north Cyprus, was last seen leaving a casino in the north with a Turkish national, Erdinc Senturk, who was said to be in his twenties.

Senturk reportedly departed for Turkey the next day. Reports said he had been discharged from the army after completing his military service in Cyprus.
