10 people rescued from the sea in Alsancak and Famagusta
About 10 young people almost drown on Sunday when an extremely strong wave dragged them into the sea in Alsancak and Famagusta.
According to report, the 10 people who were at the sea at different times and place almost drown when the sea's extremely wavy and stormy condition dragged them into the sea and at the danger of suffocation.
The first danger of the day happened on Sunday afternoon at Alsancak when one youth was taken into intensive care after he was rescued at the Alsancak beach by three lifeguard.
Also in Famagusta on Sunday, at the Glapsides beach, some others who were in danger of drowning at two different times were rescued.
Five young men were rescued by a diver on the beach while two young seaside security officers were rescued from the same beach after two hours later.
According to police report, Ahmet Vashed, Abdullhman Ayesh and Waleed Ismael, 20 and 21 years old, who entered the sea despite being warned by beach officials not to enter the sea at Escape beach in Alsancak, were in danger of choking because of the extreme wavy nature of the sea.
3 Young men, rescued by the lifeguard at the beach were taken to the Girne Akçiçek Hospital in an ambulance and then to the Lefkosa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital.Following the rescuers intervention, Ahmed Vashed was put in intensive care, while Abdullhman Ayesh and Waleed Ismael were under emergency care.
The second danger happened at Famagusta at 3:45pm on the Glapsides Beach, where five young people were in danger of suffocation.
Huseyin Fidan, Berat Ataş, Ismet Tuna Cilsalar, Osman Kaplan and Taner Turan were all rescued from the water.
Two hours later, news broke out at the same beach at 6:20 pm, that 20-years-old Khalid Al Khazendar, and 25-year- old Kashiri Seychellel, were at risk of suffocation and were about 500 meters into the sea due to the over-rippling nature of the sea.
2 young coastguard teams were rescued and taken to the Famagusta sate Hospital.
