Two men, Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot completes first batch of Peace March in support of reunification of the island in Girne
Two men, a Turkish Cypriot Yalcin Adal and Greek Cypriot Stavros Georges, who started a Peace March in support of reunification of the island from, Paphos, south Cyprus has completed their march in north Cyprus after 9 days.
Olomoinfo Blog have followed this two closely since they started the walk eight days ago and can tell you that they have received series of support from Cypriots on both side of the divided island and their walk also gained more popularity as they progress.
The two men completed the North Cyprus side of the march when they arrived at the Girne border gate at 4:30pm on Thursday and were received by supporters from both sides of the island.
Several events were held in their reception on Thursday.
The two men, Yalcin Adal, a Turkish Cypriot and Stavros Georges, a Greek Cypriot both live in Australia and came to Cyprus for the march they tagged 'Peace March for Cyprus'.
Though the March continues as they aim to complete the march in 16 days and are expected to reach the Aphrodite rocks in south Cyprus on April 5, about 400 kilometers away.
