TRNC and Turkish legitimate rights need to be protected in regards to hydrocarbons in the Eastern Mediterranean - Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has in response to the hydrocarbons issue in the Eastern Mediterranean, said that Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’s legitimate rights need to be protected.

He made the statement while in a telephone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, last week.

The two leaders discussed bilateral and regional issues and the topic of hydrocarbon resources in the Eastern Mediterranean were also taken up.

In regards to the hydrocarbon resources in the Eastern Mediterranean Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reiterated that Turkey’s and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’s legitimate rights needed to be protected in the region.
