Swedish tourist fall to his death near Hilarion Castle, North Cyprus
A 75-year-old Swedish tourists to North Cyprus has fallen to his death near Hilarion Castle at the Grine Mountian range in Cyprus on Monday afternoon.
The victim identified as Olsson Hans Göran, a 75-year-old Swedish national and a tourist in the TRNC, reportedly died between the hours of 1:30-2:30pm on Monday afternoon near Hilarion Castle.
According to report, he was reported missing by his wife when he did not return with the group of tourists following the completion of their sight seeing tour of the Hilarion Castle.
An initial search of the area by the group proved fruitless before his lifeless body was later found by Civil Defense, fire and police teams at about 100-150 meters below the northern slope of the search area with the help of a drone camera.
According to police report, there is a possibility that Olsson Hans Göran may have fallen at the time of the tour and possibly by losing his balance.
Another report by an eye witness say he had crossed the safety barrier and entered a restricted area.
Police in a report on Tuesday said an autopsy carried out on him at the Lefkosa State Hospital revealed that he had died as a result od multiple rib and skull fractures, internal injuries and brain hemorrhage.
