‘Punish a Muslim Day’ letters distributed across UK
Disturbing letters calling for planned attacks on Muslims with a pointscoring system have been sent to homes across the UK.
The campaign which is calling for a day of
violence and abuse on April 3 — called “Punish a Muslim Day” is being investigated by counter-terrorism
police.
The letters, which have been uploaded by some social media users includes pictures, lists of range of ways to attack Muslims with a corresponding point-scoring system.
The actions include throwing acid in the face of a Muslim, torturing adherents of the faith with electrocution, pulling women’s headscarves off and even bombing a mosque.
Muslims in London, Yorkshire and the Midlands have reported receiving the letter that calls for attacks.
However mystery surrounds who is behind the poster. Those who came across it claim that imagery on the poster references a group called The Last Soldiers of Christ.
Iman Atta, the project’s director, told Sky News:
A West Yorkshire Police released a statement in response saying: “Counter Terrorism Policing North East are co-ordinating the investigation at this time and will consider any potential links to existing inquiries.”

Tell MAMA, a project that monitors Islamophobic hate crimes in the UK, said a photo of an envelope suggests at least one of the notes was dealt with at a Sheffield sorting office, the letter reads.

This has caused quite a lot of fear within the community. They are asking if they are safe, if their children are safe to play outdoors.
